Membership website development that actively builds a community.

Membership website development on WordPress with MemberPress, Elementor Pro and LearnDash for delivering course or video content. Most membership website development collapses soon after launch. By month three the seams split open.

Membership website development is not just WordPress with a billing plugin. It is a system that follows the entire customer lifecycle: signup and payment, then usage, then cancellation or renewal. Every step carries technical requirements that core WordPress does not cover. If you do not plan for them during design, everything falls apart in month three, when it is already too late.

Content leaks past the paywall

URLs for protected video courses end up in Google, direct links get shared between users, and PDF material is open to everyone. The plugin may work exactly as documented, but it is not connected to the cache, the sitemap or the media file structure. Content protection is not a simple switch, it is the architecture of the whole system.

Subscription billing fails quietly

When Stripe reports a failed payment, the plugin does not retry and the member keeps access. Monthly revenue drops with no warning, because the basic system has no automation for failed payments, retries or card renewal reminder emails. You notice the problem only at the end of the quarter, when the bill comes due.

Users get lost and churn climbs

After paying, a member lands on an empty WordPress dashboard with a generic "Welcome" message and no idea what to do next. Without a designed onboarding flow, introductory emails and a clear next step, the user cancels within a week. The reason is not bad content, it is that they could not find their footing.

WHAT WE DO DIFFERENTLY

An approach we never leave to the mercy of a plugin.

Four pillars behind every membership website development project we take on. These are not up for negotiation.

Content protection as architecture, not a simple switch

Access rules for each membership tier. Custom structures for protected content. Server side validation of video URLs with signed, secure links (through Bunny.net or Vimeo Pro). Membership level is checked at the site template level, not only on individual pages. Content a member is not meant to see, Google does not see either.

A welcome flow that keeps the member past week one

A welcome sequence that fires the moment payment clears, with no delay. A member dashboard with a clear "Start here" call to action. Drip logic that releases content in doses instead of hitting the user with 50 modules at once. The first 7 days are the most critical window for churn, so we design that part before anything else.

Subscription billing that does not fail quietly

Stripe with an advanced system for handling failed payments, with automatic retries after 3, 5 and 7 days. A failed payment email sequence. A grace period before access shuts off completely. Proportional pricing when a member moves to a higher or lower tier. A cancellation flow that gives you one last chance to keep a member before they leave.

Speed and user experience at a premium level

The main site speed metrics (Core Web Vitals) sit in the green zone on the member dashboard too, not just on the home page. The caching strategy for logged in users reliably protects privacy. Video is delivered over a content delivery network (CDN) rather than from server hosting. That is why a site with 5,000 members runs just as fast as a test version with 5 users. If it does not pass this test, we do not hand the project over.

Membership website development and the technologies we build on.

We do not pick tools because they are popular. We pick them because they are documented, supported and able to keep up as your membership grows. A technology foundation that serves 50 members handles 5,000 without trouble.

WHY US

Why clients choose us for membership website development.

The difference is not in empty slogans, it is in how we build and what you are left with after handover. Membership website development is a project measured across a full annual customer lifecycle, which is why we build the partnership for the long run, not just up to launch day.

Specialists, not generalists

We do not do a bit of everything. Our focus is WordPress, Elementor, MemberPress, LearnDash and search engine optimization (SEO). That is what we build and where we excel. There is no agency dilution here along the lines of "we offer that too," which usually means nothing is done at a top level.

Everything under one roof

Design, development, MemberPress configuration, LearnDash course structure, billing integration, SEO and long term maintenance. All of it handled by the same team with clearly divided responsibilities. You do not have to coordinate three different companies for one project, or wait for one contractor to sync with another.

A premium approach, not a race to the lowest price

We are not the cheapest and we do not intend to be. Our price reflects the scope of work, the level of execution and the long term value the platform brings to your business. A membership site that collapses after three months costs far more than one built properly on the first attempt.

The member lifecycle at the center, not just the launch

Welcome sequences, drip released lessons, retention, failed payment handling, win back campaigns for lapsed members and the cancellation flow, we design all of it before we write the first line of code. A membership site is not a static page. We know that, even if the plugin documentation does not say so.

Technical ownership stays in your hands

There is no lock in to a platform the way there is with Kajabi, Teachable or Podia. As the client you get every access, every license and all of the data. Moving to another agency or running it yourself is possible whenever you want. We do not keep clients on a leash, and we never will.

Member data security and privacy

GDPR compliance, optional two factor authentication (2FA) for member accounts, encrypted data in the database, an access log and full data export or deletion on user request (Article 17). The privacy of your members is not just a "legal note" at the bottom of the page for us, it is a core technical requirement.

WHAT WE BUILD

Membership website development types we deliver

Membership website development is not a one size fits all solution. Different business models need different approaches, and we use a reliable, proven plugin combination (MemberPress and LearnDash) that supports steady growth for your business.

Online school and learning platform

Courses, sections, lessons, quizzes and certificates. The main system guides students through the learning path while the control system manages access rights. Content can be unlocked gradually on a schedule. This is the ideal solution for educators who want to move off platforms like Teachable, Kajabi or Thinkific.

Coaching and
consulting

A monthly subscription for group calls, one on one sessions, a resource library and a private community. We use Calendly or Amelia for scheduling, BuddyBoss for member networking and Zoom integration for session recordings. Your personal brand sits at the center of this system.

Professional associations and chambers

Annual dues, a member directory, a locked knowledge base, event registration and certification tracking. Resources are available to members only, with access precisely controlled by membership level. Ideal for associations, chambers and professional clubs.

Paid content and media subscriptions (blog, newsletter)

Free and premium tiers, limited free access (for example a set number of articles per month), a locked archive and a separate newsletter with exclusive content. Search engines see the public portion, while the system locks the text after a few paragraphs or clicks. You get a model similar to Substack, but with full ownership of the site.

Communities and premium membership forums

Premium access to a closed forum, topic groups, direct messages, member profiles and reward systems (badges and points). We use BuddyBoss as the community engine and MemberPress to verify access rights. You get an atmosphere close to Discord, but with full control over your own data.

Combined model: membership and online store

Subscriptions and one time product purchases on the same platform. Members get discounts, exclusive products or early access to new releases. We connect MemberPress and WooCommerce, which enables unified checkout and automatic member discount calculation. Ideal for fitness, cosmetics and food brands that want to build a community around their products.

OUR WORK

Membership website development projects coming soon

The membership website development projects we are building right now are covered by a nondisclosure agreement until their official launch. Our main overview of completed websites, however, is fully open to the public.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Membership website development questions we get almost every month.

If your question is not here, get in touch. We have probably heard it and we have an answer.

Is the MemberPress license included in the package?

The annual MemberPress license is purchased in your name, from your email address and on your account. That is our principle of technical ownership. We do not hold licenses under our own accounts in order to “tie you to us.” We state the license cost clearly in the quote, so you know exactly what the annual renewal costs. The same applies to LearnDash, BuddyBoss, RankMath Pro and every other premium plugin we use.
MemberPress has an option that limits the number of simultaneous logins on one account. On top of that, we connect smart device and location recognition systems that track suspicious behavior. If one account logs in from Belgrade, Mumbai and Buenos Aires within an hour, the system raises an alarm immediately. We cannot fully prevent password sharing, but we make it complicated and unpleasant enough that most members give up on it.
We use an automated reminder and billing system. Stripe automatically retries the charge on day three, day five and day seven after the first failed attempt. At the same time an automated email sequence starts: the first message with a card update link arrives immediately, a reminder goes out on day three, and a final warning on day six. If the card still fails after seven days, the member gets an additional three day grace period (which we can adjust) before access shuts off completely. In practice 60% to 70% of failed payments are recovered in the first three days.
LearnDash is our standard choice for every project with an educational component. Connecting MemberPress and LearnDash is direct and natural. The membership level a user pays for automatically controls course access, while the course itself has its own internal rules (drip released lessons, prerequisites for moving to the next level, quizzes and certificates). If you already have a LearnDash setup, we migrate it. If you are starting from scratch, we set it up alongside the whole membership system.
Yes. Migration covers three phases: exporting the member database, transferring all courses (video material, PDF documents, quizzes) and pulling subscription history over into the payment system. Stripe supports transferring active subscriptions from the old platform with no billing interruption and no disruption for users. Members receive just one email with their new login details, with no need to pay again and no break in access. We have run migrations off Kajabi and Teachable many times, and the process takes 2 to 4 weeks, running parallel to site development.
Yes. We use WPML or Polylang to translate public pages into the languages you choose (Serbian, English, German, Russian and more). MemberPress has built in support for a multilingual member panel. LearnDash courses are translated at the whole course level rather than sentence by sentence, which makes navigation far easier. Correct technical language tags and search optimization in each foreign language are standard whenever a multilingual build is agreed.
Member data is protected in the database, we add optional two step identity verification for accounts, we keep an administrator log that records who accessed the system, and we make it easy to export or delete data at a member request, while respecting the legal retention periods for invoices. Stripe handles card data securely, so we neither see nor store that information. We also add an advanced cookie notice with clear choices for users. The whole architecture is designed so you can answer any formal privacy request within 30 days, completely calmly and without panic.
Yes. A membership site is not a project you finish and forget. WordPress, MemberPress, LearnDash, Elementor Pro and RankMath Pro release updates constantly. We offer an annual maintenance package covering regular updates, backups, security monitoring, speed checks, urgent user issues and quarterly consultations. The first 30 days after launch are included in the price, after which we move to an agreed maintenance package or work on call.
That depends on the scope. A basic membership website development project (1 to 2 access levels, up to 3 courses, one language and standard billing) is done in 6 to 10 weeks. A mid sized project (3 or more access levels, LearnDash with more than 5 courses, multiple languages and a community forum) takes 10 to 14 weeks. Large projects that include migrations from other platforms, advanced features, multiple currencies or corporate memberships take 14 to 20 weeks. You get a realistic timeline and work plan in the formal quote, after an introductory meeting and an analysis of your business, not upfront over the phone.
